Faith

We are usually satisfied when we get what we want in life, at least for a while. Then, of course, there are those times when things do not go our way, which makes us feel sad, angry, frustrated or even lost. We look around at others and wonder why we cannot have the life they have. We pray for things to change and if they don’t, we become angry; angry with God, we feel forsaken. Where did our faith go?

In truth, life gives us exactly what we need in every moment, and true faith is unconditional acceptance. Once unconditional acceptance fills your life you have finally opened the doors to unconditional love. What could be more powerful? The next time life throws you a curve ball, try some unconditional acceptance on for size and really show the Divine just how much trust and faith you have.

Turning Your Life Around

No matter our circumstances or life /body condition, we cannot give up living life to its fullest. What that means is we continually look for ways to heal our circumstances or body and we find ways to live life to its fullest each day within our current situation.

When we recognize that we are guided and helped by something greater than ourselves we no longer feel alone or forsaken. That may mean something different for each of us depending on our beliefs and conditioning.

The most important thing is to use your awareness and condition to learn about yourself and your life. This will allow your life to expand and become more fulfilling even when it may seem more difficult. The more you are able to do this the better your life will become, because now your problem has become an opportunity. Because of this change in perception, your life will be different and it will change completely over time.

Being Okay in Uncertain Times

Many of you are worried; anxious or even downright scared with what you feel is happening in our country and around the world. Yet I can assure you that you will be fine. Let your worry, anxiousness and fear go. You cannot create what you want from this place, besides life is too short to hold onto these feelings. Where has your faith gone?

When the fog moves in, the sun disappears; however, the sun is still shining everywhere. Whether it is clear or cloudy, the sun is always shining. When you are in the midst of these feelings, they are your fog. With all your attention focused on the fog, you have lost sight of the sun, your faith.

It is important to remember that everything in its simplest form is energy. From the chair you sit on, to the car you drive and all you see around you. This also includes things you do not see, like your feelings, emotions and thoughts. When you feel worried, anxious or fearful that energy goes out into the world and energetically feeds whatever or whoever is bothering you. When you continually or habitually think about what is wrong in your life or you THINK is wrong in your life, you are energetically feeding it. By doing this you can be helping to manifest the very things in your life that you are worried, anxious or fearful about.

“My life has been filled with terrible misfortunes, most of which have never happened.”

-Mark Twain

Anger is one of these feelings and a perfect example of what I am talking about here. Have you ever noticed when you get into an argument with someone, as the other person gets angrier so do you? You are feeding off this energy and they are feeding off yours. What happens when you walk away? How many hours or days do you spend thinking about how angry you are and why you were right and they were wrong? How much sleep do you lose?

Would it be more productive to use all that time and energy toward creating the life you do want? This is why it is so important to pay attention to how you feel and think.

To start, pay more attention to what you feel and think. Once you notice a feeling or a thought that is not congruent with creating what you want, then reframe it, let it go and begin to focus on what you do want. This sounds simple and it is with practice. However, in the beginning it can be challenging. We have spent years honing our skills at holding on, avoiding and resisting. Do not get discouraged if you cannot change overnight. Let go of your expectations to be perfect and just practice. If you forget, it is OK, just start again when you remember. With your unbending intention and ongoing practice, it will become your automatic response. Leading you to a more peaceful and joyful life.

Are You Feeling Overwhelmed

Are you feeling overwhelmed by life? Maybe you are feeling this way because of the current political changes or all the problems you see in the world. Maybe you have health issues or someone you love is ill. Maybe your job sucks or you are out of work. Countless things can happen in our lives that make us feel this way. We can even feel overwhelmed by our pursuit to discover our True-Self, to awaken, to follow a spiritual or religious path. Perhaps you do not even know why you feel this way, you just do.

In these situations, it is common to feel fearful, anxious, angry or other feelings that we find difficult to deal with over a sustained amount of time. In these states, we always have our attention focused on the wrong thing. It is no longer in the present moment, although we might think it is.  Instead, it is fixated on what we think will happen and not on what is actually happening. It is impossible to stay in the present moment once you have entered into one of these states. Our mind will speculate about future outcomes, which rarely come true. It is important during these times to remember to bring your attention back to the present by letting these thoughts go.

Start with this fact. Know that no matter what is happening in your life or in the world, you will be OK. How many times in your life have you felt that things were terrible or not going your way? Yet somehow, everything worked out in the end and most of those times even better than you expected.

One key is to begin to recognize that you are looking everywhere for what is already in you. We think that we have to pursue our divinity; that it has to be found through workshops, books, church or some type of devotional practice. All of these practices and pursuits can keep you thinking that it is out there somewhere and that you have to find it through someone or something else. I can assure you this is not true. I am not saying that you should not do these things, but they alone will not give you what you want. Because they cannot give you what you already embody.

Many feel as though something dramatic must happen that will change them forever. While it is true that some people may have a dramatic experience, please know that this is not a requirement for finding what you seek. Expecting this or trying to recreate an experience will only slow you down. All that is required is to recognize that you already are what you seek.

Ask yourself if what you are doing is a form of denial of what you seek. Is it saying I am not a spiritual being now? Does it reinforce the idea that you have to do something, to become something different? If it is, then you might want to take a step back and ask, who is thinking this thought that I am not a spiritual being? Who is observing the one who is thinking that thought? Is there a difference between the person having the thought and the one observing the person having the thought? Who are you really?

What I am saying is that if you can see the truth of who you really are, you will live a more joyous life. You will make a greater impact for the causes you choose to support and you will help a greater number of people because you will be living from your True-Self. Your feelings of anger, fear and overwhelm will be transitory events in the beginning and eventually never seen again.

What will you choose the next time you are feeling this way? Will you choose to follow the speculative thought? On the other hand, you could choose to stay in the moment and let the speculative thought go.

What are you focusing on…

“We focus on the negatives, losing ourselves in the ‘problem.’ We point to our unhappy circumstances to rationalize our negative feelings. This is the easy way out. It takes, after all, very little effort to feel victimized.” – Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

“When we only see our problems as problems, we suffer. What I have noticed is when I begin looking at a problem as an opportunity my experience changes. The sooner I do this the less I suffer and the quicker I find my way out. To see how true this is, look back at your life and what your problems have taught you about living life more fully. If you cannot see this then you are still in the problem and still suffering.” –Tim Custis

Do You Desire More From Life

Many of you are hearing the call of your Soul, that surely there is something more to life. This desire that you feel is not about material things, more money, relationships or for that matter anything outside yourself.

It is about the uncovering of your True-Self, which lies under your conditioning. This calling will expose your connection to the Divine Creator and is about waking up, leaving behind who you have become.

By accepting this calling, you will begin on a journey that can only be guided by God. Awaken to this guidance by letting go of the need to control. Do not force your choices to reach happiness, because this will only lead to suffering. By the way, it is how you got where you are now. Let life unfold before your eyes as it is meant to do and does so anyway.

Do not believe your thoughts because they will tell you that this is the only the safe place to be and fear will arise to keep you stuck. Your true safety lies being open to what is. Begin to feel your feelings and the sensations in your body. Do not fear your pain, but see it as a trusted guide to awakening from your conditioned slumber.

Move into your fear; trust that the Universe is conspiring in your favor and that you will always be taken care of and safe. Begin to understand that you are one with the divine creative energy of the universe. Know that you do not have to figure everything out, that you can just let go and receive that which you desire. You no longer have to work so hard to accomplish what you want any more. Can you trust this much? Can you be open to receive or will you continue to try to force your life to be what you want, instead of allowing life to unfold in its natural way.

It is OK – Just Let Go

Our pain and suffering does not come from letting go, it comes from holding on. When we let go in faith and trust there is no pain or strain. It is only when we resist what we know we must do that we suffer. If you are experiencing pain then you are holding on to something that you know that you need to let go.

Fear is holding you back and it is only a creation of the mind, a misguided false sense of protection. Let it go and you will see that all will be well. You know this is true because you have experienced it before. You have let go of your fear in the past and you became stronger, more powerful and more connected to your True-Self, so let go my friend, just trust and let go.

WARNING! Do not read this post unless…

WarningSign

This is your first and last WARNING! Do not read this post unless you want to accelerate your awakening. The next sentence is a catalyst for change, do not go any further without the risk of never going back to the way things use to be.

“Do not hold onto your beliefs so tightly that they out live your common sense, intuition and heartfelt recognition of the truth.”

Simply put do not hold onto your beliefs without questioning them every day. Do they still hold true? Was that belief ever true? What will happen if I just let go of this one belief? Will I still be me? Will I ever be the same again? Do you want to be the same?

I can tell you for sure, that once you begin to question your beliefs you will never be the same again. You will begin to connect with who you really are and not some creation of conditioning. Do not fret; the pain of change is much less arduous than staying in the same place. Staying in the hardened conventionality of our society is much more difficult, depressing, leads to anxiety and other maladies keeping you from letting go and uncovering your True-Self.

We fail to realize that we are already awakened beings. We have succumbed to our conditioning and our resistance to the truth has stopped us from seeing this in the moment. We must stop fighting life, stop fighting what is, and know that life supports us completely, all of us, not just some of us. Why do you question it at every turn? Why do you feel adrift, lost in some way, incomplete? This is not who you are, so why do you continue to hold onto the belief that there must be something more? The more that you seek is already here, already in you, already a part of you.

Here is where to begin, remember that stretching in life is about doing and letting go is about allowing. They both have purpose; however stretching can cause stress and anxiety if not approached from a centered place. Allowing on the other hand brings more peace into your life. When you allow, you are in a state of letting go and receiving. This is very different from stretching can you feel the difference?

Start to listen to your heart and intuition more than your head and conditioning. Then allow your beliefs to bubble up to the surface. Question them from a centered place; then stretch yourself a little and let go of any belief that no longer works for you. You will know because they do not feel right, the ones that you know in your heart are no longer true. Know that you will always be guided, safe and never given more than you can handle through this process and your life.

Whether you choose to do this consciously or not dictates the amount of struggle you experience from your own resistance. Therefore, do not blame God or someone else for your difficulties. Take responsibility for where you are and know that you have the power to overcome. You have the power to let go and you have the power to connect with your True-Self and begin living the life that has always been your destiny. The life of your True-Self, the one that your soul has always been guiding you towards; the one you have been resisting.

Be grateful for your life right now. Then begin living life to the fullest while you are still here, still breathing, still alive! STOP WAITING!!

Worry is not LOVE

Last week I put the following quote on my Facebook page:

You cannot worry about someone and love them at the same time. Most people mistake the emotion of worry for the emotion of love. They think that worrying about somebody means that you love them. –Abraham

I resonated with this quote and felt called to go a little deeper, because worry says so much about our lives. Perhaps you do not agree with this quote. It may be easier to see and understand by looking at how worry makes you feel, because in the same way that worry is not loving towards another, it is also, not loving towards yourself. Do not take my word for it, just think back when you were worrying about something or someone. How did it make you feel, stressful, uncomfortable, and maybe anxious? Are these loving feelings? Did you feel wrapped in love or suffering? When we take the time to pay attention to what we are feeling we often get the opportunity to change our lives in very positive ways. Unfortunately, we are usually on autopilot and do not pay attention, we only react.

In addition, when we worry we are telling the Divine that we do not trust its guidance and in the same breath, we have lost our faith. You cannot have faith and worry at the same time. It is impossible and if you do not have faith then you certainly do not trust the Universe to provide the highest outcome. In reality, you feel that you need to control what is happening. Unfortunately, you did not have any control to begin with and the only other option was to worry. This causes needless suffering, unless you can release your desire to control the outcome, other person or situation.

Look, I know things do not always go our way, but haven’t they always worked out? Of course they have, and when we settle into that new place, many times the result is greater than we could have imagined. Therefore, the next time you fall into worry, put the brakes on and take a moment to ask yourself if you want to keep worrying or can you just let go. Letting go is the most loving thing you can do for yourself and everyone involved. Remember to notice your feelings, are they loving or not, because this alone can wake you up.

Resistance is Futile

Resistance is about believing that you are vulnerable or susceptible to something not wanted and holding a stance of protection — which only holds you in a place of not letting in the Well-being that would be there otherwise. There is nothing big enough to protect you from unwanted things, and there are no unwanted things big enough to get into your experience. -Abraham

The realization that you are always taken care of by the Divine, why just look back at what you have been through in your life and you are okay; you have survived, even flourished at times. Were did your faith go? Where did your trust go in God, The Divine, and The Universe? Life is about living and living fully comes through allowing, not resistance. Resistance pushes everything away including what you want, even need.

Therefore, the next time you notice resistance in your life, sit down and feel it in your body. Feel the tenseness and begin to release it, because trying to talk through it in your mind will only exacerbate it. You will toss and turn in bed, feel anxious and suffer. Once you connect with it in your body, you can begin to free yourself by letting go of the tension and this over time will change your thoughts. Remember to focus on what you want and leave the rest up to God.
