The Miracle of Life

When we live in the moment, the joy of life shows up in full bloom and we can see what a miracle the creation of life is. This is forgotten in those moments of frustration, anger, and anxiousness or when we feel bored with life. In these moments, the miracle of life seems like an ordinary mundane minute of passing time and we think, so what’s the point!

It is always important to remember that even the mundane things in life are a miracle of creation. Without them, we would not see the magic in life. Why, because the magical would seem ordinary to us; and the truth is from an awakened vantage point there is nothing ordinary in this life, it is all a miracle. You are a miracle, think about it. However, when we are so focused on our needless thoughts this never crosses our mind.

Therefore, the next time you become bored with life, remember that it means you are out of the moment and focused entirely on your incessant thoughts about something or someone. This incessant thinking has distracted you from the beauty and miracles that are all around you. As soon as you remember this, take your attention away from your needless thoughts and point it toward something that allows you to see the beauty and miracle of life again. There is always something to be grateful for and seeing this can help bring you back into the moment.

You are not meant to spend your days suffering from your own thoughts; you can be filled with joy and living life feeling the embrace of the Divine. It will not matter what is happening around you because you will be fully living in the moment experiencing the miracle of life and all it has to offer.



External Pursuits

When our external pursuits become more important than our internal exploration, we will eventually feel lost in life. Even when we follow the path of external pursuits and our life seems good, we will wake up one day and feel that something is missing in our life. If we continue to pursue this missing thing “out there”, then we will begin to feel stress, melancholy, worry and other uncomfortable feelings.

Our sole purpose is to reconnect with our God energy, the True-Self. Without this awareness, there will always be internal disturbances that create external upset in our lives. It is important to know that religion alone will not offer you the answers you seek, unless it teaches you this truth. Otherwise, it too is just another external pursuit.

Therefore, whether you are religious or not, believe in God or not, LIFE requires that you let go. It is only through the process of internal exploration and letting go that we can ever finally find what we are looking for and in the end, you will realize that what you were looking for was never lost, just covered up by the thoughts that you believed to be true, that said otherwise.

Does the World Seem Full of Hate

If you feel the world is full of hate, then you are looking through the eyes of the False-Self. Your conditioned beliefs are using you through the thoughts in your mind. You will hear, “see I am telling you the truth, just look” and then what you see and hear will logically confirm these thoughts and this will become your truth, but this is a trick of the False-Self.

Your worry, anger and frustration will energetically feed and strengthen the very thing you do not want in your life or this world.

In order to change this, you must become aware of what you are thinking and then shift your thoughts and energy towards what you want. The real world, the one beyond the conditioned self, the one the True-Self sees, is full of love, compassion and empathy. You know this is true because you have seen it when you are connected to your True-Self.

Which one will you choose to focus on? Which one will you contribute your energy to creating? I am not talking about airy, fairy, new age stuff here, this is a universal law and how energy works. We create what we put our attention on, so stop putting it where it does not belong. This has never been more noticeable than during our current presidential race. Just look at how you have been thinking about the world, other people and your life. Has it been focused on love, compassion and empathy or something else?

Your fear will not guide you back to the True-Self, unless you use it knowingly. Yes, you can use your fear to heal and grow spiritually, but only if you are aware of it and then it will guide you away from what you fear and back to your True-Self. So use your fear for your highest good, instead of it using you and keeping you stuck in the control of the False-Self.

I ask you, where is your energy going? Where is your attention? What are you thinking about when your mind should be quiet? Is it on what you want or is it leading you astray?

Just Say No To The False-Self

The power of transformation lies in our ability to say no to the False-Self and say YES to the True-Self. How is this done? First by bringing the light of awareness to all those things that in your Soul you know are not for your highest good. We all do things that we know before, during or after that are not the calling of the True-Self. As a sign, you will feel tightness in your body if you pay attention. Begin to listen for those thoughts associated with these actions and say no. If you slip and do it again, and you may, that is OK. Just stop and say no once again. Continue this process no matter how long it takes until your NO becomes stronger than your yes and your Spirit will smile once again.

Short and Sweet #175 – Misperception

The sadness of your discontent is only an illusion of a life seen through the eyes of misperception. It is through our continued efforts and intention to know otherwise, that the light of understanding can come in and open the doors of truth once again.

Do not fret because any effort will lead you there however small, when supported with an unbending intention to do so. Your soul knows this and is continually trying to guide you there. It is when you are refusing its guidance that you feel your discontent. Release your control over what you think you know, then accept and allow, “What Is” to come in knowing that it is always for your highest good.

Short and Sweet #163 – Just Do The Right Thing

Sounds simple doesn’t it, but it is not always that easy for most of us. However, in truth it should be simple to do the right thing every time.

How many times do we hear about a person, company or government not doing the right thing? It seems like daily there is something in the news, happening locally or personally. Why is it when someone tries to do the right thing they are often chastised for doing it? The truth is if we all did the right thing in every situation this world would be very different wouldn’t it. I wonder how different things would be if we were not so focused on material things, power, money and so rigid in our rightness. These things often lead us astray and cause us to do the wrong thing.

If you really want things to be different in this world or just in your own life, then you have to start doing the right things. In every situation that happens around the world, whether it is with another country, a company or a government, we must remember that people just like you and me run them all. When we find out that something bad has happened it is because a person or group of people have chosen to do the wrong thing at some point. We all know what that feels like because we all have done something wrong in this life.

Why is it when someone comes along who is brave enough to expose the truth they are held to be criminal or have to be protected from possible harm. These whistle blowers should be held in high regard for their courage and honesty. If they were then more people would come forward to expose the wrongdoing of others.

In order to change the whole, we have to start with the pieces and we are all a piece of the whole. Let each event where you know that someone did not do the right thing be a signpost for you to look at your own life. Instead of judging other people for not doing the right thing, look within for where you are not doing the right thing. Instead of getting angry because of what other people are doing, look at your life and see where you can do better, where you can do the right thing. Let me assure you that there is always some part of your life where you can make a shift. Be observant over your thoughts, words, and actions and when you become aware of something that needs to shift, take the simple action of doing the right thing.

Short and Sweet #161 – Now That I know better, I Do Better

Maya Angelou said, “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.” Well yesterday, it struck me that this is not always true. In my life, I have countless examples of when I knew something was not for my highest good, yet that alone did not always stop me from doing it. We have all been in a position of doing something repeatedly even after we knew it was not good for us. Think about it, do you ever eat foods that you know are not good for you? Do you spend too much time on the internet or watching television?

Many would say that you just need more willpower. Well I would agree that willpower is sometimes a part of the process. However, willpower is not always enough by itself. Many different things can facilitate our ability to be able to stop doing a certain behavior. Having an addictive nature myself, I have found that there can be many things that need to come together to manifest a shift. I believe this is true for everyone, even if you do not think you have an additive nature.

For each person the solution may be different for healing or getting the desired results. However, I believe that an unbending intention is at the foundation of any successful healing or transformation. We are part of the creative energy of the universe and intention is a catalyst for manifesting. Now the result is not always the way we pictured it and sometimes it is completely different from what we expected, but it is always equal to, or greater than we could have imagined.

It is important for you to know that you will succeed in your quest if you stay connected to your intention. Certainly, you can revise it, but it must stay active, otherwise you will slip back into the old pattern, often falling deeper into it. What this means is that you will suffer more until you are aware enough to reestablish your intention again. Please do not beat yourself up when you fall off the path, just reconfirm your intention and keep moving. As I have said before, the Universe is conspiring in our favor, not against us. It is our birthright to rise above who we have become and to reconnect with who we really are, the True-Self. We are not the conditioned and fearful human being we think we are, but a fearless and beautiful spiritual being, capable of infinite possibilities.

Short and Sweet #72 – Awakening

Many things help us awaken in life, and one of our favorites is pain and suffering. There are many other options available and even more, show up when we start to become aware. This requires action on our part, for instance, what would you be willing to give up today to read something spiritual? Reading higher thoughts of any kind can begin to help us awaken. The list of possibilities is endless, meditation, relationship, yoga; dance and music are just a few. Everything around can offer awakening if we are only open to the possibility. The first thing is to make an intention that you want to awaken. Then you show the Universe that you mean it by taking action. The action is not always about doing something in the outer world, like reading, yoga or dance. It can mean getting quiet and moving into the inner world. Once merged into oneness we can connect with spirit in a way that is not possible through thinking. Know that you will be guided once you create your unbending intention, stay true to this intention, and never give up. Each day will bring new opportunities and as your awareness awakens so too will you.
