Begin Listening to the Cry of Your Soul

We are, by essence, adaptive and evolving beings, and when we resist this call of life, we suffer. If we do not adapt, evolve, and wake up, we perish, a lesson we still have not learned from nature. The earth has and will continue to survive long after we are gone because we ignore this truth out of arrogance and greed.

When human beings and human rights come second to the desires of the ego, we all lose. We need to begin to question our thoughts and the choices we are making. We must wake up to the conditioning we have carried for generations; something many perceive does not exist because of this very conditioning. Otherwise, we will continue to make the same errors of our ancestors. We must make morally enlightened decisions and start to live from a place of higher wisdom. Otherwise, we can expect things to continue progress in a direction that makes us even more uncomfortable than we are now.

The soul is always crying out for us to live from our highest wisdom; we ignore this call by identifying with our thoughts and not questioning them. Pain and suffering offer us the opportunity to begin listening to this call. They always point toward the light if we open the door to see it. When we keep the door closed through our denial and resistance, it becomes impossible to see this light. Therefore, allow your pain and suffering to crack the door open because even the tiniest of light can change everything. The choice lies before you, will pick it up or follow the thought that says, I know I am right; it is the other person who needs to question their thoughts, not me.

The Calling

I wonder if you will ever be able to see beyond the narrow path you have created for your life, this tunnel of the unawakened. Your Divine-Self is always calling you. Can you hear it? When you see that moment of beauty and you are awestruck, that is when it is the loudest and perhaps depending on your state, the only moment you will hear its call. So instead of continuing to follow your habitual life today, take a moment to look for beauty, the miracle of life itself and in that awestruck moment, hear the call.

Why, because you have lost your way and you may not even know it. If you are not careful, this life will be over before you climb out of your conditioned-self. So take a moment to stop and listen. Take the time to hear the soulful call back to your True-Self and stop the suffering of the world. It is never too late to start and if there is a part of you that says different, this is the conditioned-self and not the Divine-Self talking to you. Which part will you listen to today, because all of your yesterdays got you here and if you keep listening to the conditioned-self, you will wake up one day wishing you had taken the time to stop and listen. Perhaps you already feel this way and I remind you once again, it is never too late to start.

Short and Sweet #151 – The World of Opposites and Duality

Continuing from yesterdays post it is important to recognize that you can experience personality and soul at the same time. Have you ever had a broken heart and yet know that everything was unfolding perfectly? Or perhaps you can relate to the feeling of being cold and exhausted yet somehow completely content. This duality of feeling is the experience of soul and personality at the same time.

“… no matter what our difficulties may be, we recognize that there is a deep untroubled stream flowing below all surface troubles and that we are of one substance with that stream. The soul knows no difficulties.” – James Thornton

With awareness, we can consciously stay connected to the soul during difficult times. This shifts our experience and allows for greater understanding and more ease as we flow with the discomfort. Less resistance means less suffering and a sense of security because we know that everything is OK.

Staying present with what is, allows us to let go sooner, releases our suffering and connect with the True-Self. The True-Self is always aware of its expanded nature, whereas the False-Self is only aware of the “little me”. You know the one that worries, has anxiety and is fearful. The False-Self will also try to find lasting comfort and peace from overeating, shopping, sex, television, alcohol or a host of other empty activities. Finding your way to peace from this state keeps you in a continuous fluctuation of discomfort.

When we begin to see our problems as opportunities, the shift from resistance awakens our conscious awareness to the soul connection. Flowing into this space, without falling into resistance, we stay aware of our discomfort and peace at the same time. Allowing this natural balance of life to fall into place reveals the awakened being that is your birthright.

Short and Sweet #91 – Soul

There are many thoughts about the soul and where it resides. Some say there is no soul and still others believe that it does exist and that it inhabits the heart. The Bhagavad Gita 2.17 says, “That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul.” Others say that animals do not have a soul, which I do not believe. They certainly show more love than many of us. It makes me wonder; can you be loving without a soul?

This quote feels like truth to me. “My soul is the bridge between spirit and body and, as such, is a uniter of opposites. …Without soul at center, I would either transcend into spirit or become mired in matter.” — Marion Woodman

If you believe that you are a spiritual being having a human experience then surely you can see the need for an unbroken lifeline to the creator. I only speak in these terms in order for the mind to have something to contemplate. If you read yesterdays post, then you know the simple view is that everything is energy and so is the soul. There is no need for a label. No matter what you believe, it will not change what is true for you but what is important to know is that every encounter we have is a spiritual one. If you bring greater awareness into your life, you will find your own answers. In addition, bringing this awareness to every situation in your life will most certainly change your world for the better and everyone else around the world.

Short and Sweet #70 – Are You Problem-Focused or SOULution-Focused

Are you so focused on your problems or the problems of the world that all you can do is worry? Worry creates many problems for us, the biggest being fear; fear that things are not going your way or will not work out OK. Does this state of worry and fear help you solve your problems? Of course not, in fact, the more you think about it the angrier you get and then you feel helpless. Once this happens you become a victim of your circumstances. We begin to place blame on anything or anyone outside ourselves for creating all these problems. We start to feel guilty for experiencing joy and happiness. The guilt begins to condition us not to feel, every time joy and happiness starts to come in we find a way to shut it down unless we begin to see things differently.

What energy do you suppose creates more healing, joy or worry? Can you feel the difference in these two words? Did you immediately pick joy? How simple was that, now you know that joy creates healing and worry instills fear, creates anger, anxiety and makes you a victim. Once you begin to let your worry go and embrace joy, then you have already begun to heal and not just yourself, but also the world. You have started contributing something positive to those in need and you will uplift everyone around you. How simple and cool is that, also you will begin to be Soulution-Focused. You will be drawn to follow the Soul to your solutions instead of the mind. The mind will make you think you have problems to have something to solve. This happens even when you do not have a problem. How many times have you worried over something that never happened? So would you like to be in an endless cycle of problem-focused worry or step into Soulution?

Short and Sweet #60 – Soul vs. Ego

The soul is the balance point and bridge between spirit and matter. Without this balance point, we would be unable to function in our human experience because we would be mired in matter or transcend into spirit. As we look back at our past actions individually and collectively, we can see that when we spend too much time in the intellect we open the door for the ego to take charge. Once this transition in HEADship takes place then we become lost. We spend our time seeking power, control, material wealth and other dishonorable pursuits like war. The intellect can never fully understand the Divine for if it could we would not need faith. When we are connected to Soul guidance, we are able to offer compassion and empathy; love becomes the foundation for our actions. It is true that we need the intellect as part of our human experience, so it and ego have a purpose as everything does in the universe. They should be a part of the human experience but never our foundation and they certainly should never have the final say from where we act. When making a decision or choice ask yourself why you are making it, are you acting from ego; are you spending too much time intellectualizing over your decision or can you drop down into your heart and ask spirit for direction. Is your choice coming from a loving place for yourself, others and the planet or is it driven only by the intellect and ego. Being aware and awake enough to see this distinction will change the direction of your life.
