Right Vision Comes in the Gap

If there is breath in the body, a fresh viewpoint is always available. Right or clear vision happens in the gap. The gap is devoid of beliefs, concepts, judgments, conditioning, and thought. What feeds all of these and our troubles in life is identifying with the endless flow of unsolicited thoughts we have every day.

Experiencing the gap is simple but often misunderstood or thought to be hard, impossible, or only for a few. Which is funny because what causes us to misunderstand or think it is hard, impossible, or only for a few is the very same mind that is causing our problems in the first place. Therefore, experiencing the gap is not the problem. The problem is the thought that says you cannot experience it or that you do not know how to do it. Once you identify with a thought that says you cannot do it, it becomes impossible until that thought is no longer believed. The mind will do what it must to keep you distracted and reinforce the impression that it is impossible. Seeing this becomes very clear in the gap.

We put our complete trust into something that misleads us all the time, our mind. We do this by identifying with whatever arises in it. Once we do, there is no opportunity for discernment or to question the information’s validity. When we slow the mind down, even a little bit, it creates some space to begin to question what it is telling us and to see that most, if not all, is false.

How do you begin to slow the mind down? By questioning what arises in it, which guides you into the gap. Can it be that simple? Yes, it can. But it does come with some challenges for many of us. We have developed a robust habit of identifying with our thoughts without question. And now, this habit is anchored in place after many years or decades of reinforcement.

Once we begin to see how incredibly untrue our thoughts can be, it can be unsettling at first. However, do not let this discourage you; it means you are onto something. So instead, let it motivate you and propel you forward. Continue questioning your thoughts as often as you can. Begin to question who you are. Are you the body, your feelings, your thoughts, or your personality? Are you something more significant than just those things? What is your true nature, your true self, do you know? Have you had direct experience with it?

Your true self or true nature refers to the aspect of your being that is entirely aware of its expanded nature no matter what you may be experiencing in your life of personhood. The gap I am speaking about is your expanded nature. It is stable and not bound by time. Our personal lives, the psychological self, on the other hand, is bound by time, and it is the one that experiences problems and suffers.

Now you may find what I just said hard to believe, but of course, that is just a thought. Is it based in fact or an assumption? Notice that thought can be observed.

We have all experienced our real nature or true self. In truth, everyone has experienced timelessness. Think of an experience where you lost track of time. Perhaps you were watching a sunset or enjoying the company of a friend; I am sure you can remember an experience like this where time ceased to exist or flew by. You were not distracted by thought during this time, but instead, you experienced oneness or presence.

Please verify what I am saying for yourself by beginning to watch your thoughts. See them slow down and notice how this affects your state of being. Perhaps you will feel more peace or joy, pay attention, and see what is different. As you practice, you will find at some point that you have dropped into the gap. The mind is no longer your master but has become your slave. Now it can be used when needed and no longer has the power to interfere with your life in the same way. It can only disturb you when you give it the ability to do so by identifying with what it has presented to you through your thoughts without question.

True Success

How do you define true success in your life? Many think that their accomplishments are the sign of a successful life. We are conditioned to believe that the job we have or the money we earn determines our level of success. We are taught to think that the size of our house or the number of possessions we have, signifies success.

Have you noticed that everything that I mentioned above can be taken away at any moment? If it were, would you still consider yourself a successful person or are you now a failure?

The idea that things define our level of success is all based on our conditioning and beliefs that we developed at a very young age, and that gets passed down from generation to generation. Then we carry these beliefs throughout our entire lives without ever exploring what might lie underneath the person we have become and our beliefs. We just assume that this is who we are and that we formed these beliefs out of our own free will.

When we put too much emphasis on what we have acquired or even accomplished, we can tie our identity to them, and when we find ourselves without them, we feel lost in life. We put so much energy into finding, getting or caring for these things, that we do not know who we are without them.

A successful person knows who they really are, their very essence and that allows them to be grounded in the present moment. This requires waking up to our conditioning through awareness and then releasing it.

The conditioned self is called the False-Self. It is the person you have become through your conditioning; an artificial persona that you created to protect yourself.

The True-Self is ever-present awareness, and from this state when something or someone is lost to you, you do not become a casualty of your experience. You are still able to embrace the gift of your life fully, and all that means. You realize that each experience in your life has something to offer you, and that is for your highest good. Even in those times when you do not like it, or it hurts.

Without a keener sense of awareness, you are destined to continue repeating your conditioned behaviors until you die. Without ever knowing true success in this life and what living life to the fullest feels like. You will be fooled by your False-Self into thinking that what you are experiencing now in your life is all it has to offer. This erroneous thinking will keep stuck in a repetitive loop, a sort of sleepwalking, and you will never be able to see true success or enjoy the experience of it.

The Key to Freedom

“USE AWARENESS AND NOT YOUR THOUGHTS TO UNCOVER YOUR TRUE-SELF.”

Why, because the False-Self, which is the person you have become through conditioning will use your thoughts to keep you stuck in life. It often lies when telling you who you are. It will talk down to you making you feel less than or embellish the truth to make you think you are better than the next person.

It uses your thoughts to control you and keep you subservient. However, with awareness, you can expose this liar to the light of truth; once again connecting with who you really are, the True-Self.

When the False-Self is observed or brought into the light, it loses its covert and deceptive grasp on your life, and then you will experience the genuine freedom that is possible by releasing the authentic you back into the world.

Humanity’s Most Important Discovery to Make

Finding our True-Self through inner exploration is more important than any scientific discovery, invention or creation by man. If we do not take this responsibility seriously, we will continue to destroy the planet and ourselves through the choices we make.

Our choices arise from a foundation created by our conditioning and the person we have become, not our True-Self. The True-Self is free from all conditioning. This conditioning gets passed down from generation to generation within our race, gender, family, country or any other group that we belong. If we continue on our current path without any correction in our thinking or actions, the planet will continue to deteriorate, and we will keep fighting wars until we self-destruct, whether these wars are internal ones or with each other.

Bringing awareness to our thoughts and actions, and questioning them will begin to release this conditioning. Know, that our conditioning, like a bad habit or addiction, will not let go without a fight and we must be vigilant in our efforts to expose it and free ourselves. If we do not bring the light of awareness into our lives, then we are destined to be oblivious to this conditioning and held hostage by it.

If you think you are already free from it, I would ask you to question that thought because your conditioning may be deceiving you. Also, when your thoughts say it is too hard or you cannot or do not need to do it know that this too is your conditioning anchoring in and protecting its place in your life. You always have the power and ability to release your conditioning, no matter what your current situation is in this life.

If you are sincere in your wish to release it, then your unbending intention to question your thoughts and actions will begin to shine a light in the corners of your being, exposing what needs to release. You have nothing to fear or lose except that which you no longer need.

There is nothing more important in your life than freeing yourself from this conditioning. When our guidance comes from the True-Self, we lead from the heart, and our efforts will be for the highest good of everyone. Can you see the possibilities once we rise to our full potential and enter the flow of natures organizing intelligence?

I know it is possible to live in a peaceful world where everyone can flourish together without fear. What do you think?

Reconnecting with Your Real Nature

Many people do not like change because they associate struggle, suffering, and pain with it. The funny thing is we are more willing to resist and fight change, which causes distress. This is because we like to stay in our comfort zone, even when that comfort zone becomes uncomfortable. The truth is change is not required to grow in life or spiritually. What is needed is letting go and more specifically, letting go of the conditioned person and experience that you now find yourself living. Moreover, what really causes struggle, suffering and pain is trying to hold onto something that no longer acts in your highest good.

Letting go is the process of releasing your social conditioning and reconnecting with your True-Self or real nature through awareness. As you begin to release this conditioning and awaken, you will find that your real nature is free from past mistakes. From this place, taking action is always in alignment with your highest good, and you will see your life unfold with more ease and grace.

Short and Sweet #179 – Finding Your True-Self through Letting Go

There is one constant to every action in life from birth to death and everything in-between and that is letting go. The very act of creation is an act of letting go. Therefore, there is only one constant to awakening; and that is letting go. Without it, you are stuck in the mire of your conditioning, feeling confused, incomplete and unable to move forward freely. You seek to find your answers and the truth outside yourself, not realizing that it has been with you all along, that you are the light; that you are all things not just what you think you are. The only way to reconnect with your True-Self, the only solution is by letting go. When we do, our fear, our conditioning begins to fall away, revealing what was there all along. Know that you are safe because you are a creator, you are creation in physical form and you are divine.

Short and Sweet #177 – Forgiveness

You cannot truly know the fullness of love without being able to forgive; being able to overlook the faults of others and realize that at our core we are perfection, we are divine. Without forgiveness, we lash out in fear, in bigotry, in anger, in jealousy, in violence and experience a myriad of other unhealthy emotions. These uncontrolled reactions affect our health, our peace of mind and the energetic balance of our vibrational field. They played a major role in creating the world.

When we forgive from the heart, we reestablish the balance and connection with our purity and perfection, the True-Self. We know this because once we forgive; we feel relieved, happy, calm and peace returns to our inner being. Forgiveness is the recognition of the Divine in those we forgive and a true act of self-love. In that moment, we have released the separation of our conditioning and connected with our True-Self and the oneness of all things. This is why we feel peace again and this is how we begin to change the world.

Short and Sweet #166 – The Journey Back

From the moment of conception, we are being influenced by our past lives and the present conditioning begins imprinting who we will be in the future. As we grow, this conditioning becomes anchored in while more input is received from the people in our lives and society in general.

Many search for their purpose by looking outside themselves, thinking that their true purpose is to do something special in this world. Although this can be a byproduct of the journey back, our true purpose is to hear the calling of spirit through the soul. This can happen at any point during one’s life. Some of us come in Continue reading

Short and Sweet #164 – Change Your Outlook On Life

There is only one thing that helps us to rise above conditions, and that is a change of outlook on life. This change is made possible by a change in attitude. I have found in my life that every single time I am able to change my attitude, my experience of life changes.

Too often, when our life feels stuck or uncomfortable, we think it cannot or will not change. However, this is NEVER true and in that moment, you have fallen victim to the Continue reading

Short and Sweet #160 – YOU are the LIGHT of CREATION

Within you is the light of creation and you should know that you are beautiful and perfect just the way you are. I understand that you may not feel this way now, but that does not mean it is not true. It certainly would not be the first that you have been mistaken in this life. This may be difficult to accept because you are identified with the False-Self and not the True-Self. Do not worry, this is a common experience at first for all of us. In fact, when things no longer make sense or you feel uncomfortable in your life you have reached a turning point. If you have not reached this point, do not worry because you would not be reading this now if you were not on the path. The intellectual mind cannot think you to this place, it is something that you have to experience and feel in your life. However, until you reach this point, it is helpful to believe in the possibility. Because you are the light of creation there is really nothing for you to figure out, you only need to let go of who you have become to remember who you are.

If I were a quarter, the head of the coin would be the False-Self. It identifies with mind, ego, thoughts and the material world. The tail of the coin represents the True-Self, it identifies with its direct connection to spirit and its foundation in love. A coin is neither the head nor the tail; in fact, most of the coin is the space between the two. We are like the coin, we have the ability in human form to live from the False-Self or the True-Self, many times we are bouncing back and forth, as we learn and grow. However, we are much more than the False-Self and the True-Self; we are part of the light of creation. We are not just part of creation; we are part of the creator as well. Everything is connected and works in synchronicity, but as long as we see the world through the eyes of the False-Self we will only see separation, this is the illusion. We fail to see the oneness is all things, the connection and the synchronicity.

Remember when things get tough, we always hold the perfection and light of the creative energy of the universe in us. We are held in the arms of creation like a mother holding her child. Creation only wants the best for us, so feel this truth within and not just your struggle. Do not ignore what is happening to you, but at the same time, do not put all of your attention there. This serves no purpose and only leads to suffering. Remember to put your attention on who you really are and know that the universe is conspiring in your favor. No matter what the False-Self sees, you are the light of creation.
